FUEGA SANTA MAGA

The region of Los Altos de Jalisco is the place where we grew up, the agave landscapes surround the towns and the silhouettes of the hills almost merge with the blue of the sky. Under the same sky, on this same earth, things happen that change shape while they jump from mouth to mouth, we confess and hide, until the chronicle achieves a mystical, unreal tone.
In our region, the story is told that in the distant hills, when you see a “chamara” (blaze, campfire), it is interpreted as a sign that there is a buried treasure, and that if you find it, the condition is to take it all the treasure, otherwise you are in danger.
Fuega Santa Maga hides a lot but also tells a lot, it offers you a riddle, the fire of the campfire fuses the sacred with the magical; We know that it is made of agave because it is from Los Altos, its figure is iconic, however it hides its content, it protects it like a treasure.
